Something you'd never guess about me:
I sang in rock bands for years and wore bleached-blond, spiked,
shaved-at-the-temples, overly-permed hair. And false eyelashes. And
fake nails.
Best advice to relax & be stress free:
Laugh, play, meditate, and get massages!
My Inspiration:
God. My parents. Their parents.
How I stay Healthy:
I make every effort to eat a balanced diet and exercise. (Most days I'm good; some days… not so much.)
Areas of Service:
Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx
Bio:
After working for twenty years as a secretary in the corporate
world with companies like Johnson and Johnson and the American
Institute of Physics (and moonlighting as a rock singer at night), I
finally mustered up the courage to leave my comfort zone behind and do
what I'd been dreaming about for years - becoming a massage therapist.
It's been over ten years and I've never looked back. I'm so much
happier now - there's nothing more fulfilling than helping another
person to feel better, especially in this touch-deprived society we
live in today.
I've worked for several spas in New York City; namely Bliss, Oasis,
Edamame and Carapan, and at the Hospital for Special Surgery's
Integrated Care Center, providing medical massage for physical therapy
patients. In Philadelphia, where I'm originally from, I was Operations
Manager for Compass Massage and Bodywork, and supervised the Student
Clinic at the Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia.
In addition to performing chair massage for corporate events, I
maintain a private practice with offices in Manhattan and Yonkers. My
table massage consists of everything I love, which is a unique blend of
Swedish, Shiatsu and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi. I will also tailor the massage
to meet your needs, which may include Deep Tissue, Sports, Medical
Massage, Reflexology and, for the mom-to-be, Maternity Massage. I'm
fascinated with Chinese Five-Element Theory, and have begun studying
with Fabien Maman, the creator of Tama-Do and founder of The Academy of
Sound, Color and Movement.
I'm so pleased to be working with Jiva Massage and Fitness, and look
forward to meeting you at your next corporate event. You work hard, so
treat yourself to a massage today – you deserve it!
